Balmoral is a thriving and caring community of people committed to maintaining their independence. The residents generate their own social, sporting and community activities. Well supported committees and individuals are continually developing new ideas whether it is a jazz night or organizing support for a local charity; the social life of the village is a moving picture that caters for a diverse and active population.

One of Balmoral's many faclilities is its dedicated and fully equipped woodwork studio. It is very popular with all residents welcome to join. Some remarkable residents, led by Bruce Pennicott, have volunteered their time to build essential wooden therapy equipment for children at Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) which was recognised on Channel 9 News.
